“As demand for real-world data and evidence continue to grow, so too does the number of data sources and curation methodologies. However, more data does not necessarily translate into better evidence.
To generate insights that can meaningfully power clinical research, inform healthcare decision-making, and improve patient outcomes, we need data that are reliable, representative, well-curated, and fit for purpose.
At the same time, we must continue to embrace novel and rigorously vetted approaches to identifying, validating, harmonizing, and improving the quality of real-world data.
I’m grateful to Applied Clinical Trials for publishing my thoughts on this topic and for advancing the conversation around the critical role of quality and curation processes in real-world data and evidence.
