“I am truly excited to share our new Review published in Nature Reviews Cancer entitled ‘Brain barriers at the crossroads of glioma immune surveillance and immunotherapy response‘ which I compiled together with Michael Platten.
This collaboration has been particularly special because it brought together our complementary , namely mine on the role of the brain barriers in shaping CNS immune surveillance and Michael’s deep expertise in gliomas and tumour immunology.
While immunotherapies have transformed the treatment of many cancers, their success in treating gliomas remains limited.
In this Review, we propose the brain barriers as an essential, and perhaps still underappreciated component of the complex relationship between gliomas, immune surveillance and immunotherapy.
