Mark Hughes Foundation Centre for Brain Cancer Research shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Our warmest, deepest and most enthusiastic congratulations to Dr Cassandra Griffin, Mark Hughes Foundation Beanie for Brain Cancer Centre Biobank Manager who has been awarded her PhD.
Cass’s commitment to the MHF Biobank, and every single patient, loved one, and carer who has supported it, is unsurpassed. Over 400 patients have now donated critical samples, that each play a key role in brain cancer research.
For over 10 years the MHF Biobank has been an important tool in the brain cancer research arsenal, and Cass has played a key role as Manager and its most dedicated advocate. The awarding of her PhD is due recognition for her dedication to advancing research through this vital resource.
Cass has also recently been nominated as a Rising Star PhD Candidate for the 2025 NSW Premier’s Awards for Outstanding Cancer Research to be announced next month.
With 7 first author publications in her thesis, 8 additional collaborative publications and 16 conference papers, Cass’s PhD ‘A Legacy of Hope: Understanding the Value of Post-Mortem Brain Donation for People with Brain Cancer and their Loved Ones’ is already proving a valuable and ongoing asset to brain cancer research.
Bravo Dr Cassandra Griffin!”
