“This commentary arose as a result of the discussions held during the launch of Australian Research Centre for Cancer Survivorship in February 2026.
It was there, that the notion was affirmed that cancer survivorship care as a discipline is, at its core, about people rather than cancer, and that care is more than just being ‘supportive‘ but rather practice that is ‘learned, cultivated and reinforced’.
That is what cancer survivors want and should expect every day.”
