Bogda Koczwara: Are Health Systems Equipped to Support Cancer Survivorship?

Bogda Koczwara, Director of Australian Research Centre for Cancer Survivorship, shared a post on LinkedIn:

“An interesting commentary, addressing the health care system as a whole, but highly relevant to cancer survivorship. As cancer survivorship is not a disease, how well equipped is our health system to support health after cancer diagnosis?

To improve outcomes for cancer survivors we need to invest in prevention and primary and community care (all very important) but also consider how we make decisions about health care and how we measure outcomes that matter.

We need to invest in routine measurement of patient reported outcomes and place survivors at the core of designing systems that support their needs.”
