“I’m incredibly excited to lead this work at such a pivotal moment.
Together, we are building a future where surviving cancer means thriving beyond it.
ARCCS will lead innovative, evidence‑based solutions to improve quality of life for survivors, reduce barriers to care (especially in regional and rural areas), and shape best‑practice policy for the future.
Together, we’re building a future where surviving cancer means thriving beyond it.”
Quoting UNSW‘s post:
“Introducing the Australian Research Centre for Cancer Survivorship (ARCCS).
Today, over 1.6 million Australians are alive after cancer diagnosis, and this number will rise to 1.9 million by 2040. Survival, however, is only the beginning.
We are delighted to introduce a newly established Australian Research Centre for Cancer Survivorship (ARCCS) – a partnership between Cancer Council NSW and UNSW Sydney dedicated to ensuring that every cancer survivor can live not just longer, but better.
Our vision is clear: health and prosperity of all cancer survivors through innovative, impactful, and collaborative research.
Through ARCCS, we will:
- Co‑design and implement evidence‑based interventions to improve quality of life for survivors.
- Deliver evidence to guide practices, services and policies across NSW and beyond.
- Partner with clinicians, researchers, survivors and communities to develop real‑world solutions.
- Break down barriers to survivorship care, especially in regional and rural areas.
This is a once‑in‑a‑generation opportunity – made possible through a $40 million joint investment – to reshape survivorship for millions now and into the future.”
