Bio Usawa, in partnership with AORTIC- Africa, is proud to unveil the inaugural cohort of the AORTIC-Bio Usawa Microgrant Program for Cancer Research.

Five researchers. Five countries. One shared mission: advancing African-led solutions in cancer care. Congratulations to this pioneering group:

  • Dr Martha Mwaba Bsc HB , MBChB, MPH – Zambia.
  • Diane Eléonore BANCE – Burkina Faso.
  • Abdulkareem Kabir – Nigeria.
  • Felix Njoroge – Kenya.
  • Norman Swart – Botswana.

The awardees, selected from a highly competitive pool of more than 150 submissions, represent the future of African-led oncology research; bringing forward practical, equity-driven solutions to real challenges in care delivery.

This initiative reflects a shared commitment to investing in local talent, accelerating evidence-based innovation, and ensuring that progress in cancer care is shaped by those closest to the need.
