As the only medical oncologist on a panel alongside leaders in the field of radiation oncology, I was especially grateful for the opportunity to bring a medical oncology perspective to the discussion.
The conversation underscored just how increasingly interconnected our disciplines have become.
The optimal sequencing and integration of immunotherapy with definitive and perioperative radiation remains a major area of active investigation in thoracic oncology, and it was particularly valuable to see perspectives across specialties converge around a shared goal of translating these advances into better outcomes for our patients.
