I am honored to have been a part of our summer program since 1994. An OHSU School of Medicine medical student, Sana Isa, was in our 1994 class and has been practicing medicine in the Pacific Northwest for 25+ years. Her efforts helped as we put together the world’s first combination Gene Therapy /immunotherapy clinical trial.
That trial received NIH Recombinant DNA Activities Committee (RAC) Approval on June 6, 1995 / PMID: 12142559
There have been more than 100 students who trained in many of the labs at the Earle A. Chiles Research Institute and they have gone on to do great things across the USA and beyond! They are changing the world and making it a better place for everyone!”
