Benjamin L. Ebert, President and CEO at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“RAS is one of the most important targets for cancer treatment but was long considered ‘undruggable.‘ Today, that is changing.
At Dana-Farber Cancer Institute’s Center for RAS Therapeutics, clinicians and researchers are driving the next generation of treatments for RAS-driven cancers.
Led by Alice Shaw, MD, PhD, and Andrew Aguirre, MD, PhD, the Center brings together leading clinicians and researchers to accelerate the development of RAS-targeted therapies. The Center supports preclinical studies and clinical trials of RAS-directed therapies, advancing a growing portfolio of innovative RAS inhibitors across multiple cancer types, disease stages, and phases of investigation.
At ASCO26, Brian Wolpin, MD, MPH, presented a true breakthrough: a phase 3 results for daraxonrasib, a RAS inhibitor that doubled survival for patients with advanced pancreatic cancer. This is a tremendous advancement for the treatment of a devastating disease, and much more progress is on the horizon.
Together our physicians and scientists are advancing innovative treatment approaches to transform the lives of patients with RAS-driven cancers.”
