Benda Kithaka, Executive Director and Founder of KILELE Health Association, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“This week I will be participating in a side meeting convened by the Organization of African First Ladies for Development – OAFLAD/OPDAD at the African Union 39th African Union Assembly. It is part of my continued advocacy work in various forums to mark World Cancer Day 2026.
Read my article on some reflections from an encounter I had with my daughter, and thoughts on how we encounter health solutions from the larger community in global health.
I hope it reminds us all that real progress happens when we listen, learn, and build solutions with communities – not for them. That is how we move closer to a world where cancer prevention and care truly reach everyone.
My message to our Heads of State in Africa, and Global Movers and Shakers all around me – behind every cancer statistic is a person, a family, and a community navigating care in their own unique way. Invest in People where they are.
Thank you Union for International Cancer Control (UICC), OncoDaily for re-opening my eyes to this reality.”
