“Anyone can talk about the future. Building it takes conviction.
Over the last five years, one priority stayed constant for me. We had to keep backing the future of Merck with real investment, real choices, and real focus.
Our teams did exactly that.
Since 2020, Merck has invested more than €11.5 billion across capital expenditure and acquisitions. More than €7 billion went into CapEx across our global footprint. More than 30 projects were completed or started to expand capacity, strengthen resilience, and bring us closer to patients and customers. At the same time, more than €5.2 billion in acquisitions and divestments helped sharpen our strategic focus, including moves such as SpringWorks, Exelead, and Unity-SC.
What I value most in this story is the mindset behind it. We did not wait for a simpler world. We kept building. We kept investing. We kept pursuing the right deals at the right value. We kept backing the strengths that can carry Merck forward for years to come.
Thank you to every colleague who helped turn those investments into real progress on the ground, at our sites, in our labs, and across our businesses worldwide.”
