Belén Garijo, Chair of the Executive Board and CEO of Merck, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“There is a wonderful linguistic bridge between English and Mandarin this year. The English word for ‘Horse‘ sounds remarkably like the Mandarin phrase ‘Hǎo shì‘(好事, which means ‘Good things.‘ It is a coincidence that feels incredibly fitting for Merck.
For the Year of the Horse, wherever you are, ‘good things’ should be our motto:
- Creating good things for the patients, customers and the society we serve
- Fostering good things within our teams
- Driving good things through innovation
I hope the Year of the Horse brings many good things to all of us. Let’s keep this good mood going!”
