Barts Cancer Institute (Queen Mary University of London) shared on LinkedIn:
“We are deeply saddened to share the news that Tim Oliver, Professor Emeritus in Genital and Urological Cancer Immunology at Barts Cancer Institute, recently passed away.
One of the first generation of medical oncologists, Tim’s pioneering clinical work helped transform the treatment of testicular cancer.
His research, ideas and work to build research infrastructure also helped shape BCI as we know it today.
Tim retired in 2006, but remained a familiar and enthusiastic presence at BCI events. He was well known for his infectious energy and curiosity, original thinking, warmth and generosity, and he served as a valued mentor to many.
Tim co-founded the male cancer charity Orchid and continued to support its work and BCI research until very recently.
Our thoughts are with Tim’s family, friends, colleagues, former patients and everyone who knew him.”
