Bar Levy: Had The Privilege of Serving the ESGO ENGAGe Executive Board

Bar Levy, Executive Board Member at World Patient Advocacy Coalition on HPV Elimination, shared post on LinkedIn:

“For the past two years, I had the privilege of serving the ESGO ENGAGe Executive Board (EEG). As my term comes to an end, I find myself reflecting on what an extraordinary journey it has been.

ENGAGe is more than a network – it is a community built on a shared belief that patients must be active partners in shaping the future of gynecologic oncology.

Over the past two years, together with remarkable patient advocates and clinicians from across Europe, we worked to strengthen that vision and translate it into concrete initiatives.

I am particularly proud to have contributed to several milestones:

  • Participating in the ESGO-ESTRO-ESP Endometrial Cancer Guidelines, bringing the patient perspective directly into the development of clinical recommendations.
  •  Supporting the establishment of the Endometrial Cancer Patient Committee, ensuring that women affected by this disease have a dedicated platform within ENGAGe.
  • Advancing conversations around the importance of policy change as a core pillar of patient advocacy.
  •  Creating a Patient Advocacy Track within the ESGO Congress Abstracts, including the creation of a special guidance and support to the ENGAGe community – a meaningful step toward integrating patient-led research and insights into scientific dialogue.
  •  Helping develop a new ENGAGe membership program, aimed at strengthening and expanding the ENGAGe community.

None of this would have been possible without the inspiring collaboration of my fellow EEG members, the ESGO leadership, and the entire ENGAGe community.

It has been a privilege to work alongside people who believe, as I do, that patient advocacy must evolve – not only patient support and raising awareness but leadership, research, and policy influence as well.

I would like to warmly congratulate the newly elected Executive Board members. and especially the new co-chair Anne De Middelaer. I am confident you will continue to grow this incredible community and take ENGAGe to even greater heights.

Last but not least, I would like to thank the amazing ENGAGe office – the ENGAGe director Eva Štréglová, and Kateřina Šibravová and Anastázie Illéš for their relentless support over the years, their vision and flawless execution.

The work continues – and I look forward to supporting the ESGO ENGAGe community in the years ahead. I will forever cherish my time with ENGAGe EEG.”
