Atlal Abusanad, Executive Director of King AbdulAziz University, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Earlier this year, I was quoted on American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) membership webpage:
‘Through ASCO’s meetings, research forums, and community, I’ve found both direction and belonging.’
Looking back at ASCO26, I realize that statement has never felt more true.
- Completed the ASCO Leadership Development Program as the first participant from the region.
- Our Leadership Development Program project was presented to the ASCO Board of Directors & CEO, supported by great teammates, mentor and staff.
- Presented my research as an oral presentation and joined a panel discussion.
- Another abstract on the impact of a digital survivorship platform supporting breast cancer survivors (Najia) was published in the JCO conference proceedings marking its 10th anniversary.
- Served as a mentor at the Women’s Networking Center.
- Celebrated my mentee’s recognition as a Best of ASCO Connection Blog 2025 knowing how satisfying to be a featured writer as I’ve been featured for 3 years in a row.
- Celebrated the publication of a fellow’s ASCO Connection blog that I reviewed and refined.
- Connected with colleagues, friends, and ASCO leaders while building new global collaborations.
Grateful to everyone I had the privilege of crossing paths with along the way. Each conversation, collaboration, and connection has enriched this journey and reinforced the power of our global oncology community.”
