Asmaa Elsayed: Empowering Patient Satisfaction Teams Through the ‘Pink Story’ Initiative

Asmaa Elsayed, Quality Coordinator at Breast Cancer Hospital-National Cancer Institute, shared a post on LinkedIn:

“It has been an inspiring journey!

We have successfully concluded a series of workshops across several governorates — from Luxor to Ismailia, Suez, Aswan, and finally Port Said — under the ‘Pink Story‘ initiative.

This initiative was held in collaboration between the Breast Cancer Hospital- National Cancer InstituteCairo University, the Egyptian Healthcare Authority, and Novartis, aiming to train and empower Patient Satisfaction Teams in different hospitals affiliated with the Egyptian Healthcare Authority.

Dr. Emad Shash, Director of the Breast Cancer Hospital, gave an overview of the hospital’s mission and the new services introduced to enhance patient care.

He emphasized the hospital’s continuous role in improving the patient experience through comprehensive and compassionate healthcare delivery.

Dr. Mona Elhosary, Head of the Patient Navigation Unit, highlighted the essential role of Patient Navigation — ensuring that every patient is supported and followed step by step throughout their hospital journey, helping them overcome obstacles, and improving their overall experience.

I had the honor of contributing through the quality Management practices, focusing on how to improve the patient journey using practical quality tools such as process mapping, patient flow analysis, and experience and satisfaction measurement.
This approach helps identify problems accurately, reduce waiting times, and design realistic solutions that make care delivery smoother, more efficient, and more humane.

Because quality is not just about standards — it’s about people, compassion, and every story that deserves to be heard.”
