Ashutosh Mishra, Robotic and Minimally Invasive Surgical Oncologist and Associate Professor, at AIIMS Delhi, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“ASICON 2025 Kolkata
The 85th Annual Conference of the Association of Surgeons of India (ASI), held from December 17-20 at the Biswa Bangla Convention Centre in New Town, was an amazing event gathering over 5,000 delegates from India and across the world for cutting-edge surgical advancements, workshops, and networking.
Thrilled to have participated as faculty, contributing to the Breast Surgery Skill course, speaking on fluorescence-guided surgery and its role in SLN detection, and perforator flaps (LICAP, LTAP, MICAP) in partial breast reconstruction. Delivered a dedicated lecture in the IASO session:
“Breast Cancer Surgery – Where Are We Heading?” focusing on the evolution from Halstedian mastectomy to robotic breast surgery.
Grateful to ASI, ABSI, and IASO leadership for the opportunity, and special thanks to Dr. Sanjit Agrawal, Dr. Rudradeep and Dr Diptendra Sarkar for their tremendous support
The event showcased a massive turnout at one of Southeast Asia’s largest venues for ASI’s premier annual gathering, where my contributions included hands-on skill training and forward-looking talks on de-escalation, oncoplastics, and robotics-aligning with my AIIMS Delhi expertise-and was marked by the collaborative spirit of support from leaders in surgical oncology.”
