“One of the huge perks of doing a rotation in a world famous institute like the Mayo Clinic, Rochester, is casually running into people who you have read about and studied their work over decades!
It’s like a live action Journal club.
I had the pleasure and honour of doing in-patient BMT rounds with Dr Stephen Ansell MD, Principal Investigator of the CheckMate 205 trial which established nivolumab in R/r Hodgkin’s lymphoma and in fact ushered in immune checkpoints in the field of hematology/lymphomas as a whole!
An erudite discussion on NHL and cHL with a short bedside lecture made it obvious I was in the presence of a legend of oncology.
