Asfand Yar Cheema: The Evolution and Translational Potential of Allogeneic Transplantation in Hematological Malignancies

Asfand Yar Cheema, Resident Physician at the Cleveland Clinic, shared a post on LinkedIn about a recent article he and colleagues authored:

“Publication Alert, Journal of Transplantation and Cellular Therapy

Thrilled to share that our latest article, ‘Under the hood: Allogeneic Stem Cell Transplantation in Hematological Malignancies,’ is now published online ahead of print in the Journal of Transplantation and Cellular Therapy.

In this work, we highlight the evolution and translational potential of allogeneic transplantation in hematological malignancies, emphasizing innovative genome-editing strategies such as CRISPR-Cas9, ZFN, and TALENs to tackle graft-versus-host disease (GVHD), bridging the gap between bench and bedside to advance precision hematopoietic transplantation.

I am deeply grateful to my incredible mentors and colleagues Muhammad Faisal Aslam, MD, FACP, Hossam M. Ali, MD, Mishaal Munir, MD Maryam Bibi Ali Najam. for their invaluable guidance and collaboration throughout this project.”
