Asem Mansour, Chief Executive Officer at King Hussein Cancer Center, shared on LinkedIn:
“Proud to see KHCC’s Fourth Annual Cancer Research Conference come together on October 15–16.
This year we received 546 abstracts and selected 243 for presentation after review by an international scientific committee: 104 oral presentations across nine sessions and 139 e-posters. The program covered CAR-T and cellular therapy, early detection, genomics and hereditary cancers, pediatric oncology, AI, cancer registries, nursing, pharmacy, supportive care, and much more.
Researchers from across KHCC and Jordanian universities shared the stage with experts from 12 other countries. A panel with colleagues from Jordan, Egypt, the UAE, Oman, and Belgium focused on advancing collaborative cancer research in the Arab world.
Two convictions guide our work:
- Research matters when it changes clinical practice and widens patients’ access to the best possible care, not when it adds to a publication count.
- Regional collaboration is now essential. Our patients share genetic and environmental characteristics, and pooling our data and expertise will strengthen the Arab world’s contribution to global cancer science.
Having the latest treatments is not enough. Every real advance in oncology starts with a question, and we have to keep asking the ones that remain unanswered.
Thank you to every researcher, reviewer, and speaker who made this conference possible.”
