Fumiko Ladd Chino, Radiation Oncologist at MD Anderson Cancer Center, shared a post on X:
“Thoughts from my time as Chair of ASCOQLTY25:
I am incredibly grateful for the robust community that ASCO has helped build and sustain in health services research. Our work in care delivery & quality improves the lived experience of cancer care & survivorship.
Our work ensures innovative treatments benefit everyone. We make strides to decrease inefficiency/ waste, increase QOL & decrease toxicity so that more people thrive in survivorship. We highlight that communication matters and that the “patient should always be at the center” of decision making.
We show how health policy can either benefit or harm patients and families. HSR may not be as flashy as a new drug or technology but our work is no less vital to improving cancer outcomes & survival.
I’m overjoyed to be in this community & so happy we get to gather at least once a year to reinforce the science, collaboration, & friendship. [And especially grateful for the ASCO staff who make it happen year after year ].
See you all in Boston for ASCOQLTY26!”
