ASCO Breakthrough 2026 to Convene Global Oncology Community in Singapore

American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) shared a post on LinkedIn:

“The Power of Connection in Driving Cancer Care Forward

When we talk about breakthroughs in cancer research, most focus on the moment of discovery: a new therapy, a promising trial result, or a headline-grabbing study.

What receives far less attention is the work behind-the-scenes that makes these breakthroughs possible – the conversations, debates, and peer-to-peer interactions that turn promising science into real-world care.

As the oncology landscape continues to evolve, connection and collaboration remain key drivers of progress. From June 25-27, 2026, ASCO Breakthrough will convene the global oncology community in Singapore to fuel the next breakthrough in cancer care. Co-hosted by ASCO and the Singapore Society of Oncology (SSO) and led by an esteemed group of cancer care professionals, the meeting will bridge global science and regional expertise to advance cancer care.

Connecting the Asia oncology community across markets

Asia carries a significant share of the global cancer burden. With 60% of the world’s population, the region accounts for nearly half of all cancer cases and a majority (56%)¹ of cancer deaths worldwide. Across the region, cancer care challenges vary across populations and healthcare systems, with Asia’s oncology community having different research environments, clinical practices, and patient populations.

Achieving greater care for patients across this region begins with bringing the oncology community together. 2024’s ASCO Breakthrough saw close to 800 international experts from over 35 countries, and this year’s meeting is set to welcome a wide range of perspectives, united by a common purpose to care for those with cancer.

2026 ASCO Breakthrough Program Committee Chair Dr. Yun Yen, Taipei Medical University, said:

‘Asia has a unique opportunity to lead in accelerating access to innovative therapies. With growing clinical trial capacity, genetically diverse populations, and deep scientific talent, the region can drive global oncology forward.’Collaboration as a catalyst for advancing new ideas

Scientific progress depends on collaboration through peer review, the exchange of ideas, and learning from the work of others. By bridging global science with a regional perspective, 2026 ASCO Breakthrough provides an important opportunity for oncologists to collaborate and gain insights from peers who can challenge, refine and translate ideas into practice.

Dr. Yen sees this meeting as a platform to amplify good science into real momentum, where researchers get to showcase novel data, engage with international experts, and build collaborations that can fast-track promising research from concept to clinic.

Attendees can expect robust scientific discussions and educational content on major cancer types, as well as case-based sessions on liver, cervical, and oral cavity cancers. Other sessions will explore emerging priorities — including the global surge of early onset cancers, the integration of artificial intelligence into clinical practice, antibody-drug conjugates, and advancing equitable oncology across the region.

Additionally, there will be ample opportunity to engage with leading experts from ASCO, such as Clifford Hudis, Chief Executive Officer; Julie Gralow, Chief Medical Officer; Eric Small, 2025-26 President; and Elizabeth Mittendorf, 2026-27 President.

A platform designed for meaningful exchange

Advancing cancer care requires meaningful exchange between oncologists. Direct engagement with peers allows oncologists to explore how emerging science can inform clinical practice and build collaborations that extend beyond the meeting.

2026 ASCO Breakthrough delivers the collaborative spirit and expert community unique to ASCO, with an added, dedicated focus on the Asia-Pacific region. Its intimate setting creates space for deep conversations and to build connections, and the program offers ample opportunities for deeper connection for researchers at various points in their careers, including disease-focused networking lunches, networking sessions for early-career professionals, and a ‘Women at ASCO Breakthrough’ meet and greet.
