Armando Orlandi: 200,000 People, One Direction, Only One Color – Pink

Armando Orlandi, Medical Director at the Agostino Gemelli University Hospital Foundation IRCCS, shared a post on LinkedIn:

200,000 people. One direction. Only one color: Pink.

Today the Circus Maximus has become the beating heart of Italy, for the Race for the Cure 2026 – the largest event in the world for the fight against breast cancer. We were there. As an official ONCORUN AIOM-NICSO team, 164 members and members who chose to take to the streets to donate, run, walk – or simply be there.

ONCORUN AIOM-NICSO is the official sports group of AIOM – Italian Association of Medical Oncology and NICSO – Italian Network of Support Care in Oncology, created to promote physical activity as a tool for cancer prevention and a therapeutic resource for psychophysical well-being. A project that brings the message of medicine out of the clinics – on the street, among people, in real life.

A huge and sincere thank you goes to those who imagined this project and made it possible:

  • Prof. Massimo Di Maio – President of AIOM, who was with us today at the meeting point to open this extraordinary day together
  • Dr. Alessandra Fabi – AIOM Councilor, one of the founders and soul of ONCORUN AIOM-NICSO
  • Dr. Andrea Antonuzzo – one of the founders of this beautiful initiative

Thank you to the whole ONCORUN AIOM-NICSO team: you have been wonderful. All 164.

Thank you to Komen Italia for the extraordinary, tireless work, made of passion and dedication for the Women in Pink, every day of the year – not just in May. With 120,000 donors reached this year you have written a new record, and every number is a woman who has chosen not to be afraid.

At the center of everything, as always, them: the Women in Pink. Who with their presence remind us why all this matters.

Only Beautiful things.”
