Arif Kamal: American Cancer Society Expands Clinical Trial Access Nationwide

Arif Kamal, Chief Patient Officer at American Cancer Society, shared a post on LinkedIn:

“Big news today!

The American Cancer Society ACS ACTS (Access to Clinical Trials & Support) program has expanded. Piloted in the Northeastern US since February, our personalized clinical trial matching service is now available nationwide.

In just seven months, ACS ACTS has removed barriers to treatment and clinical trial participation through trial matching, education about clinical trials, and navigation assistance – engaging 835 individuals who identified 1,464 health-related social needs and offering 911 personalized clinical trial opportunities.

Finding the right clinical trial and navigating cancer treatment options is complex and often emotionally draining. With ACS ACTS, persons with cancer can receive curated trial matches and support resources, including lodging and transportation for treatment.

Many thanks to the team members behind this critical program, Dr. Pia Banerjee, PhD, Gargee P., Dr. Kalipa Gedion, and Lilly Meier, along with the many teams across ACS whose collaboration makes this program possible.

Learn more and spread the word: cancer.org/acts.”
