Aparna Parikh: Driving Equitable Access to Life-Saving Cancer Medicines Through Global Biopharma Collaboration

Aparna Parikh, Program Director for the GI Medical Oncology Program at Mass General Brigham, shared a post by Harvard Global Health Institute, adding:

“This past year, we had the opportunity to engage deeply with C-suite leaders across the biopharma sector, culminating in a rich discussion at BIO. One theme was clear: we must do better to ensure access to oncology therapeutics in low- and middle-income countries.

Too many patients around the world still face unimaginable barriers to life-saving cancer medicines. The conversations we’ve had are only the beginning, and the responsibility to act is urgent.

I am grateful to continue this important work with the ATOM Coalition and many partners who share the same vision of equitable global cancer care.”

Quoting Harvard Global Health Institute‘s post:

“Access to Oncology Medicines in Resource-Challenged Countries Requires Multi-Pronged Approach

At the 2025 BIO Convention in Boston, our HGHI Scholarly Working Group on Access to Cancer Therapeutics highlighted the urgent need for multi-stakeholder collaboration to address disparities in oncology care across resource-challenged countries.

We’re proud to spotlight Aparna Parikh, whose leadership continues to push the conversation forward on building equitable, sustainable solutions that draw lessons from global health successes like the HIV response.

Joining her on the panel were fellow Scholarly Working Group member Clifford Samuel and Keith Flaherty.
