Anu Agrawal: Moving Insights From Sanofi’s Patient Advocacy Forum

Anu Agrawal, Vice President of Global Cancer Support at American Cancer Society, shared a post on LinkedIn:

“There is always one highlight that leaves me moved and changed at American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO)–this year’s came early at the Sanofi patient advocacy event with Suleika Jaouad. Thank you Elizabeth F. Franklin, Rachel Solomon and team for hosting this deeply inspiring event.

Some key messages from Suleika that resonated with me:

  1.  Focus on your eulogy resume–how you want to be remembered–rather than your work resume
  2.  Creative alchemy–we all have creativity which can help ground us and give us deeper meaning
  3.  Rather than thinking about every day as your last day, think about every day as your first day, approaching it with wonder and curiosity
  4.  Build your community–those people that show up when you need them most–quality over quantity
  5.  For providers–get to know your patients as persons

Incredible model for living life in the greatest of uncertainty.

Appreciate the shoutout to Hope Lodge too–everyone has barriers that we can help to address if we ask.”
