Anne Korir: Adopting Digital Health Systems to Strengthen NCD Evidence and Outcomes

Anne Korir, Senior Research Scientist at Kenya Medical Research Institute, shared a post on LinkedIn:

“I would like to take this time to appreciate the Ministry of Health, KenyaDivision of Cancer and Non-Communicable Diseases, together with partners, for a well organized inaugural National NCD conference held last week, 19-21 Nov in Nairobi. The conference was quite insightful covering a wide spectrum of NCDs.

I was honored to serve as a panelist discussing ‘Digital Revolution in NCD Care: Leveraging Data and Technology for Better Outcomes.’ The topic sparked conversations on adopting digital health systems for generating evidence on NCD burden and improving care outcomes.

This first-ever 3-day National NCD Conference brought together key stakeholders to advance dialogue on integrating NCD prevention and control into primary health care. The conference provided a vital platform to launch the East Africa Community NCD Strategy.

All these efforts are geared towards strengthening health system resilience, enhancing access to essential NCD services, and supporting the Kenya Health Policy objective to halt and reverse the burden of NCDs—while advancing the Universal Health Coverage (UHC) agenda.”
