Anne Goeres Reflects on Childhood Cancer Europe Conference in Glasgow

Anne Goeres, Founder of Philantree Luxembourg shared a post on LinkedIn:

“What an amazing week in Glasgow!

And yet again, an incredible annual conference bringing together all stakeholders from across Europe active in the field of childhood cancer!

I had the great pleasure of moderating a workshop on fundraising together with my Belgium friend and fantastic colleague Delphine.

Fundraising is a risk management issue and absolutely crucial for a non-profit’s sustainability and long-term health! Hopefully our carry-home tips and tricks will help our members across Europe strengthen and professionalise their fundraising strategies!

Very keen also to have hosted, together with my Greek friend and survivor Kyriakos, the psychosocial session with two important contributions:

The first one, presented by Yulia from Ukraine, focused on their support model for families after childhood cancer death. Important discussions around grief, death and support across different cultures and healthcare systems in Europe. A topic that needs to stay on the agenda!

Then the super nice and important Polish initiative presented by Agnieszka and Hubert: the Onco Olympics! A beautiful initiative combining sports, inclusion and hope for survivors and families across Europe. Next international edition in 2027!

So much more to report from Glasgow, if you couldn’t make it this year, you missed something BIG and we missed you too.

I was also genuinely very happy to see Childhood Cancer International – Europe ’s new visual identity come to life throughout the conference! It reflects what we are: clear, bold and colourful!

Thank you and huge congratulations to the Vienna office team and to all my committee colleagues for the enormous amount of work behind this conference. But when one conference is over, the next one is already around the corner:

See you in Vienna 18-20 June 2027!

And hey, by the way: we’re already looking for sponsors.”
