Anne-Claire Gerbaldi։ Three AI Announcements in a Week, One Vision for AI at AstraZeneca

Anne-Claire Gerbaldi, SVP, Chief Digital, Data and AI Officer at AstraZeneca, shared on LinkedIn:

“Three AI announcements in a week, one vision for AI at AstraZeneca.

Imagine what becomes possible when we connect science and care across diseases, health systems and regions. A world where each time a patient walks through the door, the science and care for the next patient get a little bit better.

That’s AstraZeneca’s AI vision: accelerate science and transform care for every patient we serve, from the first hypothesis in the lab to the clinic and everyday life.

No single company can build that alone.

And three announcements over the past week provide great examples of collaborations that complement and accelerate what our teams are building in-house:

Care: Oracle Health. Our global collaboration pairs AstraZeneca science and clinical expertise with Oracle data, cloud and AI capabilities.

The ambition: helping clinicians match trials to appropriate patients, supporting earlier diagnosis and guideline-directed care, and evidence that flows back to improve science and care.

Each symptom was once a signal. AI can surface those signals before they become symptoms.

The first programme, with M42 Health in Abu Dhabi, focuses on uncontrolled hypertension. A first step toward partnerships with health systems around the world, with a common ambition to improve outcomes for patients.

Discovery: insitro. Advanced AI to decode the biology of metabolic dysfunction-associated steatohepatitis (MASH) and cardiomyopathies – two complex diseases with significant unmet need – and support the discovery and development of potential new medicines.

Compute: Sferical AI. As a founding partner, we were pleased to participate in the launch of Sferical One – a shared AI supercomputer in Sweden built on NVIDIA, providing access to the compute that can power our science ambition.

Bold ambition, built together.

Thank you to our partners at Oracle Health, M42, insitro, Sferical AI, Nvidia, and to Seema Verma, Alaa Adel, Daphne Koller, Iskra Reic and David Dellamonica for bringing this to life.”
