“While staffing appointments are always exciting, I am especially thrilled to share this news about the expansion of our Equitable Cancer Outcomes across Rural and Remote Australia (ECORRA) team at Deakin University.

We’re delighted to welcome Victoria Turner to the ECORRA team as a Lived Experience Research Fellow.

Victoria’s appointment brings opportunity for us to elevate our consumer engagement. She currently serves as Co-Chair of the ECORRA National Consumer Program, where she plays a key role in strengthening meaningful consumer involvement across our research.

As Lived Experience Research Fellow, Victoria will contribute to across our ECORRA Program and support consumer – led policy and research initiatives that help ensure our work reflects the priorities of people and communities across rural and remote Australia.

Victoria brings extensive experience as a consumer representative in research programs nationwide, alongside a background in clinical nursing and tertiary nurse education.

Importantly, her lived experience of cancer care in rural Australia provides invaluable insight into the challenges and opportunities for improving equitable cancer outcomes.

We are committed to meaningful partnerships with people who have lived experience are essential to designing research that is relevant, impactful, and capable of driving lasting change.
