“New perspective in Nature Reviews Cancer from the National Cancer Institute (NCI) Precancer Think Tank.
The article provides researchers with a framework to start addressing key topics in preneoplasia research. The precancer microenvironment (PME) is related to – yet distinct from – the tumor microenvironment (TME). All studies on precancer biology and progression should incorporate a detailed assessment of the PME. In many respects, this is the linchpin for enabling cancer interception.”
