“New work from our Clinical Oncology group at A.C. Camargo Cancer Center, published in ESMO Gastrointestinal Oncology: a meta-analysis of randomized trials comparing TACE with or without immune checkpoint inhibitors in unresectable hepatocellular carcinoma.
Key findings: improved PFS with the combination (HR 0.63, 95% CI 0.52–0.77, p<0.01), higher ORR (RR 1.45, 95% CI 1.31–1.61, p<0.001), but more grade ≥3 AEs (RR 2.20, 95% CI 1.72–2.81, p<0.001) and treatment discontinuations (RR 5.02, 95% CI 1.43–17.68, p=0.012). The OS signal (HR 0.85, p=0.04) remains immature.
