Angela Mastronuzzi: A Global Mission and Responsibility at an Inspiring and Energizing ISPNO 2026

Angela Mastronuzzi, Head of Neuro-Oncology Unit at Bambino Gesù Children’s Hospital and President of AIEOP, shared a post on LinkedIn:

ISPNO 2026 – Sydney, Australia

22nd International Symposium on Paediatric Neuro-Oncology was an incredible experience.

I attend many conferences, but this one felt especially inspiring and energizing in a way I did not expect.

I left truly recharged after witnessing the extraordinary work being done in pediatric neuro-oncology. There was a strong sense of shared purpose throughout: this work does not feel divided by countries or borders, but connected by a global mission and responsibility.

It was deeply hopeful to connect with people I had never met before, and equally meaningful to see colleagues I usually only interact with from afar.

One of the most special parts of this experience was sharing it with Andrea Carai and Giada Del Baldo – not only as part of the same clinical team at Bambino Gesù Children’s Hospital, but first and foremost as friends. It made seeing Giada present our work on GD2 CAR T-Cells, as well as several of our posters, even more meaningful.

With sincere thanks to Fondazione Il Coraggio Dei Bambini for sponsoring our participation in this congress.”
