Angela Mastronuzzi: Discussing NF1-Related CNS Tumors at the ESMO Sarcoma and Rare Cancers Congress

Angela Mastronuzzi, Head of Neuro-Oncology Unit at Bambino Gesù Children’s Hospital and President of AIEOP, shared a post on LinkedIn:

“Yesterday, I had the privilege of speaking at the ESMO – European Society for Medical Oncology’s Sarcoma and Rare Cancers Congress 2026 in Lugano, Switzerland.

During a Multidisciplinary Tumor Board, I discussed the management of Neurofibromatosis Type 1 (NF1)-related CNS tumors with Enrico Franceschi.

The board also explored important topics such as:
– Case presentations
– NF1 surveillance guidelines
– Supporting survivors of childhood NF1-associated glioma during transition in neuro-oncology

And I had the opportunity to speak specifically on “Diagnosis and treatment of NF1-associated glioma.”

The congress provided a comprehensive overview of the latest advances in rare solid tumors, from diagnosis and molecular insights to treatment strategies, highlighting the evolving landscape of these complex diseases.”
