Andrea Reis: Leaving ESMO 2026 with New Knowledge, Fresh Perspectives, and Renewed Motivation

Andrea Reis, Medical Manager at Further Group, shared on LinkedIn:

“As I wrap up my ESMO 2026 experience, I couldn’t leave without reflecting on yesterday’s Presidential Symposium — a fitting way to conclude several days of science, learning, and inspiring conversations in oncology. Among the studies presented, several discussions particularly stood out:

  • ARTEMIS-011 explored a new therapeutic approach for patients with relapsed or refractory osteosarcoma, highlighting the ongoing search for effective options in rare cancers with significant unmet needs.
  • MIOIO addressed an important practical question: can we extend immune checkpoint inhibitor dosing intervals in patients responding to treatment, potentially reducing treatment burden without compromising outcomes?
  • TroFuse-005 brought new data on the TROP2-directed antibody–drug conjugate sacituzumab tirumotecan in advanced or recurrent endometrial cancer, while KEYNOTE-C93 explored first-line pembrolizumab monotherapy in patients with dMMR advanced or recurrent endometrial cancer.

Together, these studies highlighted different dimensions of progress in oncology: developing new treatments, personalizing therapeutic decisions, and reconsidering how we deliver care to patients.

As a Medical Manager at Further Group, these discussions are particularly relevant to my work, reinforcing the importance of translating advances in oncology into informed decisions, supporting access to innovative treatments, and keeping patients at the centre of every healthcare journey.

And I feel especially grateful to have shared this experience with my Further colleagues who were there with me: Ana Antunes, Alexandra Paúl, Sylwia Biszczuk, and Paloma Faramin. Thank you for the conversations, the shared learning, and the moments that made this congress even more special. It’s always a pleasure to learn and grow alongside colleagues who share a commitment to improving healthcare and patient outcomes.

For me, the most meaningful part of attending ESMO is connecting the scientific evidence with the questions that matter in everyday clinical practice: What does this mean for patients, their quality of life, and their access to innovative treatments?

And on a more personal note, a very special thank you to Arpi Asminian and the entire OncoDaily team for welcoming me back as an OncoDaily Ambassador for ESMO 2026. It has been a genuine pleasure to share my impressions, highlight important discussions, and bring some of the congress’s science and energy to those who could not be here in person.

I’m leaving this ESMO – European Society for Medical Oncology Congress 2026 with new knowledge, fresh perspectives, and renewed motivation to keep learning, sharing, and contributing to more patient-centred cancer care.

Until the next one!”
