Andrea Pretta on RAS and BRAF Status in MSI-H/dMMR Metastatic Colorectal Cancer

Andrea Pretta, Assistant Professor at University Hospital and University of Cagliari, shared a post on LinkedIn:

‘Do all patients with MSI-H/dMMR metastatic colorectal cancer derive the same benefit from immune checkpoint inhibitors, or does the underlying molecular profile still influence clinical outcomes?

This question inspired our systematic review and meta-analysis, now available online as a pre-proof in Cancer Treatment Reviews.

‘Distinct outcome patterns according to RAS and BRAF status in MSI-H/dMMR mCRC treated with immune checkpoint inhibitors: a systematic review and meta-analysis’

By systematically reviewing evidence from prospective clinical trials and real-world studies, we investigated whether RAS and BRAF alterations are associated with distinct clinical outcomes among patients with MSI-H/dMMR metastatic colorectal cancer treated with immunotherapy.

I would like to express my sincere thanks to Mario Scartozzi, Riccardo Giampieri, Sara Lonardi, Francesca Bergamo, Chiara Cremolini, Filippo Pietrantonio, Rossana Berardi, Pina Ziranu, Giulia Maddalena, Giorgia Locci, and all authors for their trust, expertise, and invaluable contributions to this project.

I hope these findings will contribute to the ongoing discussion on biomarker-driven precision oncology and stimulate further research in this evolving field.”
