Andrea Boutros: How Does Immunotherapy Affect Male Fertility?
Andrea Boutros, Medical Doctor and Oncology Resident at San Martino Polyclinic Hospital, shared on X:
“How does immunotherapy affect male fertility?
A prospective study of 26 men with melanoma receiving ICIs showed only modest declines in sperm output.
New prospective cohort (n=26) of men with melanoma on ICIs: sperm output decreases ~34% and concentration decreases~30%; motility/morphology unchanged; modest FSH increases; T/LH stable; one autoimmune orchitis case.
Should we offer fertility preservation upfront? Read more!
Special thanks.”
