Ana Carolina Izurieta Pacheco: Discussing practical solutions and barriers to implementing survivorship programs across Europe

Ana Carolina Izurieta Pacheco, Staff Pediatric Oncologist and Specialist in Late Effects of Childhood Cancer at Barcelona Children’s Hospital Sant Joan de Déu, shared a post on LinkedIn:

“Last week, we had the opportunity to host the second in-person meeting of the JANE-2 Network of Expertise on Survivorship in Barcelona. It was a valuable event that brought together task leaders and around 50 representatives from partner institutions across Europe.

It was especially encouraging to see the progress achieved so far, the work already underway, and at the same time openly discuss the challenges we continue to face. The meeting fostered insightful conversations on practical solutions to improve care for cancer survivors, while also giving us the opportunity to better understand the different realities and barriers each country and institution encounters when implementing survivorship programmes.

Without a doubt, one of the highlights of the event was the spirit of collaboration and the shared commitment across Europe to building more sustainable, patient-centred survivorship care pathways for the future.

Special thanks to the team involved in organising the meeting. Looking forward to the next steps together.”
