American Medical Women’s Association (AMWA) shared on LinkedIn:
”Coming to PBS this Women in Medicine Month!
AMWA is proud to celebrate the national PBS premiere of 1001 Cuts, the award-winning documentary created and produced by AMWA member Sarah Temkin.
Beginning September 1, the film will bring the experiences of women in surgery to audiences nationwide, exploring workplace culture, barriers to advancement, and the ongoing pursuit of equity in medicine.
As a national impact partner, AMWA is proud to help amplify these important conversations and the women working to transform medicine.

Sarah Temkin, Associate Director for Clinical Research at the Office of Research on Women’s Health at National Institute Of Health, shared AMWA‘s post, adding:
”Making a documentary film about women in medicine started almost 6 years ago as a crazy idea to help make sense of my professional lived experiences. Along the way I heard countless stories from women who felt alone, confused, and even angry about the unexpected career curveballs the profession had thrown at them.
The film has won awards, touched so many people, and changed my life.
I’m so grateful for the support from the American Medical Women’s Association and so many others who made our PBS broadcast in September a reality. Check your local broadcast listings or view it on demand on the passport app after September 1.”
