Amol Akhade, Senior Consultant Medical Oncologist and Hemato-Oncologist at Suyog Cancer Clinics and Reliance Hospitals, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“One Year of OAG and OncoWisdom
Today, on 21 June 2026, OAG (Oncology Academic Group) and OncoWisdom complete one year.
It is an online group of like-minded oncologists on WhatsApp, with members from all over the world.
What started as a simple idea-to bring oncologists together to learn, discuss, question, and grow-has evolved into a vibrant academic community.
Over the past year, we have shared updates from major oncology conferences, including ESMO, ASCO, ASCO GI, ASCO GU, SABCS, WCLC, ELCC, and ESMO Gynaecological Cancers Congress.
We have discussed landmark papers, debated challenging clinical cases, conducted surveys, and shared educational resources.
We also organized nine OncoWisdom webinars featuring outstanding global faculty from various parts of the world. I am grateful to all the faculty members who generously gave their time and expertise to these sessions.
But the true strength of this community lies not in the webinars or the numbers.
It lies in its people.
Some of us create the data.
Some analyze the data.
Some question the data.
Yet all of us use that knowledge for one common purpose—to improve outcomes for our patients.
Some members are at the top of the ladder. Some are climbing it. And for some, the ladder may not even exist yet.
But all of us share a common denominator: patient care.
Some of us do this in large institutions with extensive teams, while others are lone warriors.
Through OAG and OncoWisdom, we have tried to bring everyone together on the same platform, where knowledge is shared freely and learning knows no hierarchy.
As Ken Blanchard said:
‘None of us is as smart as all of us.’
That philosophy has guided us from day one.
Thank you to every member who shared a paper, presented a case, joined a webinar, asked a question, challenged an opinion, or simply followed the discussions.
This community exists because of you.
As we enter our second year, we look forward to more webinars, more collaborations, more global participation, and hopefully even an in-person gathering someday.
I will end with an African proverb that perfectly captures our journey:
‘If you want to go fast, go alone.
If you want to go far, go together.’
Thank you for being part of this journey.
The best is yet to come.”
