Amil Družić, Oncology and Radiotherapy Resident at the Clinical Center University of Sarajevo, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Proud to have co-chaired the second European Cancer Organisation Southeast Europe HPV Conference in Bucharest, together with Mihaela Grigore, HPV Lead at ESGO
Under the slogan “One Region, One Goal”, we brought together policymakers, clinicians, patient advocates, public health experts and partner organisations around one shared ambition: the elimination of HPV-related cancers and diseases across Southeast Europe.
A special highlight was the updated “Message Across Borders” Declaration — a regional call to action to eliminate cancers and other diseases caused by HPV.
The Declaration focuses on practical steps: better data, stronger stakeholder engagement, gender-neutral HPV vaccination, improved cervical cancer screening, and closer regional cooperation.
It is also very easy to endorse. I warmly encourage organisations and stakeholders across the region to add their support and help turn this shared commitment into action. You can endorse the
Declaration here.
Thank you to the European Cancer Organisation, ESGO and the Romanian Football Federation for making this important regional platform possible.
I look forward to seeing you next year with new updates, more Declaration signatories, stronger progress in the HPV Atlas rankings, and even greater success in preventing HPV-related cancers across the region.”
