“Can a single blood test change how we detect cancer?
A new modeling study published in CANCER suggests that routine multicancer early detection testing could significantly reduce late-stage diagnoses—by as much as 45%—and identify cancers earlier, when treatment is most effective.
‘Our analysis shows that multicancer blood tests could be a game changer for cancer control,’ said lead author Jagpreet Chhatwal, PhD, of Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School. ‘By detecting cancers earlier—before they spread—these tests could potentially improve survival and reduce the personal and economic burden of cancer.’
