Amanda Pullinger: What’s Happening This November for Gastric Cancer Awareness Month?

Amanda Pullinger, Chief Executive Officer at Debbie’s Dream Foundation: Curing Stomach Cancer, shared on LinkedIn:

“November is Gastric Cancer Awareness Month. At Debbie’s Dream Foundation: Curing Stomach Cancer, we book-end this important awareness month with our successful International Symposium in Seoul, Korea which was held on Oct 31 (recording available shortly) and our Miami Symposium on Dec 4 hosted at the Braman Cancer Center.

In between these important symposia, we will be engaged in the following:

  • Six Debbie’s Dream Foundation: Curing Stomach Cancer Fundraising walks across the US. I’m registered for the Kansas City walk on Nov 15th and the Walk Where You are fundraiser on Nov 27th (which I’ll do with my Mum and Dad in Cornwall, UK.) You can register for or donate to these events here.
  • Debbie’s Dream Foundation: Curing Stomach Cancer will host a table at the Texas GI Cancer Conference this week. Looking forward to seeing folks there!
  • Debbie’s Dream Foundation: Curing Stomach Cancer will also host a table at the Medstar Georgetown Gastric Symposium in DC: Jessica Alcantar and Melani Vincelli will be there!
  • Attending the Milken Institute Future of Health Conference in DC, as part of the TRAIN Network
  • We will be announcing details of our Military H. pylori campaign on Veterans Day Nov 11 along with opportunities to engage or donate. We are grateful to Bob Woodruff Foundation Got Your Six Network for their support
  • We will launch a series of interviews throughout November with male stomach cancer patients and global medical professionals, in honor of International Men’s Day, and continue our Where Research Leads series.
  • We will participate in My Gut Feeling – Stomach Cancer Foundation of Canada’s Power of Periwinkle campaign as a Lighting Supporter
  • We will also host our usual Support Group on Nov 5th.

I encourage you to engage with us during Gastric Cancer Awareness month by joining one of the events (in-person or virtually), listening to the interviews, re-posting this on social media or by donating.

Let’s make this the biggest Gastric Cancer Awareness month ever!

Donate here.”
