Alyaa Elnaggar: How Law and Policy Can be Powerful Tools to Prevent and Control NCDs

Alyaa Elnaggar, Manager of the Presidential Initiative for Cancer Early Detection and Management Team at Ministry of Health and Population, Egypt, shared a post on LinkedIn:

“I’m happy to share that I’ve completed the ‘Online Legal Training Course on Law and NCDs’ offered by the McCabe Centre for Law and Cancer, in collaboration with Cancer Council Australia and Union for International Cancer Control (UICC)

The course explored how law and policy can be powerful tools to prevent and control noncommunicable diseases (NCDs) including cancer, cardiovascular, and respiratory diseases by strengthening national health systems and promoting equity in access to care.

This experience has deepened my understanding of how legal frameworks support public health initiatives and has inspired me to further integrate legal and policy perspectives into my work on national health programs and early detection initiatives.

It’s a meaningful step forward toward my long-term goal of contributing to stronger, more sustainable public health systems.”
