Allan John Barcena: Simulation-Based Interprofessional Program in Oncologic Emergency Scenarios

Allan John Barcena, Postdoctoral Fellow (Interventional Radiology) | Institute of Data Science in Oncology, shared a post on LinkedIn:

“Excited to share our brief report featured in Advances in Cancer Education and Quality Improvement (ACE-QI)!

We designed a simulation-based interprofessional program involving oncologic emergency scenarios to instill foundational teamwork skills among early-stage learners (first-year medical students and newly graduated nursing residents).

This is an outcome of UT MD Anderson’s commitment to leveraging team-based care to enhance patient care and safety. We are deeply grateful for the funding and support provided by the National Cancer Institute (NCI), particularly to the Medical Students Summer in Oncology at Anderson Research (SOAR) program.

Huge thanks to my incredible co-authors and mentors in education and training.”
