Alison Dziarmaga: Reflecting on the Progress in Breast Cancer Care and the People Who Make It Possible

Alison Dziarmaga, VP, US Franchise Head of Breast Cancer at AstraZeneca, shared on LinkedIn:

“As we kick off Breast Cancer Awareness Month, I’m reflecting on the progress being made across breast cancer care and the people who make it possible.

We’re closer than ever to a future where care is truly personalized.

Across every stage and subtype, rigorous science and a focus on patients’ needs are advancing new treatment approaches in HER2-positive early breast cancer, metastatic disease and triple-negative breast cancer, where options have historically been limited. These advances can make a meaningful difference for patients.

This is why every moment matters.

‘Every milestone accomplished in breast cancer treatment and every milestone a patient reaches with their family is the reason our ambition to eliminate cancer as a cause of death is not just a statement, but a commitment.’

Progress can mean birthdays celebrated, graduations attended and ordinary Tuesdays shared with loved ones.

It becomes possible when science advances with a focus on equity and access.

I’m grateful to the researchers, clinicians, patient advocates and caregivers who make it real.

This Breast Cancer Awareness Month, I’m mindful of how much further we can go together toward a future with more options, more support and more moments that matter.”
