Alique Topalian, Research Scientist of Survivorship and Supportive Services at the University of Cincinnati Cancer Center, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Another Stupid Challenge Week 2 Update: Thank you to all who have already donated! So far we have raised $526 making us only $1,935 away from reaching my goal!
Week 2 has been a major success and I have the bruises to prove it! I have all of the basic skills down and am zipping around my neighborhood! Biggest win- I made it two miles yesterday! You may wonder why a 32 year old can’t ride a bike.. sadly it is another experience I lost to childhood cancer. Some of you may not know that I lost my right eye due to a serious infection during treatment. This has impacted my coordination and depth perception which made it very difficult to learn to ride, especially during childhood when I was newly adjusting to living life with one eye.
If you missed my last post, June is Cancer Survivors Month! To celebrate I am participating in Another Stupid Challenge to fundraise $2,500 for Stupid Cancer to provide a scholarship to attend CancerCon 2027 in Cleveland! Another Stupid Challenge is your challenge, your way. The goal- do anything that feels right for 30 days. What am I doing? Learning to ride a bike- 30 minutes a day. So tag along and watch my journey and help me raise money! Together we can make a difference for the young adult cancer community.
Donate to my page or though any app like Venmo, Cash App, or Zelle! Please feel free to share my posts to spread the word!”
