Alicia Zhou, Chief Executive Officer of the Cancer Research Institute, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“AI is advancing at an extraordinary pace. But in cancer research, algorithms alone aren’t enough.
If we want AI to truly accelerate cures, we need the scientific infrastructure that allows it to learn from biology at scale: shared, standardized, high-resolution data that reflects how tumors and immune systems actually behave.
In this new piece for the World Economic Forum, I write about why cancer research is at an inflection point, and why building open data foundations for immunotherapy could unlock the next era of discovery. And why we are investing in this very question at the Cancer Research Institute (CRI).
If we get this right, we can compress decades of discovery into years.
