Dana-Farber Cancer Institute shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Alice Shaw, MD, PhD, has been appointed to the George P. Canellos, MD, and Jean S. Canellos Professorship in Medicine at Dana-Farber and Harvard Medical School.
This endowed position was established through the generosity of many donors, including George A. and Kaity David, and their three children, Harry G. David, Anastassis G. David, and Nicola David-Pinedo, the Stavros Niarchos Foundation (SNF), and the Canellos family. It carries a meaningful history for our community as it was created to honor the extraordinary legacy of George P. Canellos, MD, our first chief of medical oncology, and his spouse, Jean S. Canellos, whose leadership and service have helped shape our institution over decades.
A world-renowned clinical and translational investigator, Shaw has built an exceptional career at the intersection of clinical oncology and molecular genetics and has consistently translated scientific insights into new therapeutic approaches for patients.
Shaw’s path to this role reflects her deep commitment to discovery, innovation, and collaboration. Since joining us in 2024 as Chief of Strategic Partnerships, she has led efforts to accelerate the translation of scientific breakthroughs into innovative therapies, and co-founded and co-leads the first-of-its-kind Center for RAS Therapeutics.
Shaw’s appointment as the George P. Canellos, MD, and Jean S. Canellos Professor recognizes her scientific achievements, leadership in medical oncology, and dedication to mentoring the next generation of investigators. Please join us in congratulating her on this well-deserved honor.”
